Welcome to Tamil Nadu Economic Association (TNEA)
Tamil Nadu Economic Association (TNEA) is a successor to the Madras
Economic Association (1917) founded by Dr Gilbert Slator, MA
(Cantab.),D.Sc.(Econ.) Professor of Indian Economics, University of Madras who
is also the founder of the Indian Economic Association in 1917.This as been
registered as a trust founded in the year 1995. TNEA, which is the successor of
the Madras Economic Association and earlier Madras Branch of Indian
Economics Association, and was founded by Prof. Vedagiri Shanmugasundaram,
the Former Vice Chancellor, Manonmaniam Sundaranar University and Emeritus
Professor of Economics, University of Madras and Prof. Indira Ranganathan, the
former Principal, Pachaiyappa’s College for Women, Kancheepuram.
