Dr. S. Narayanan is currently working as Assistant Professor in the Post Graduate and Research Department of Economics, Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Chennai, Tamil Nadu for more than a decade. After completing his graduation and post graduation from the same college, he completed his Ph.D from the Madras University and his work was highly commended. In his thesis he discussed the “Evaluation of Higher Education Loans” from the Public Sector Banks in Tamil Nadu, India.
His research aptitude drove him to join the Institute for Advanced Study and Research (IASR), where he worked as a senior research fellow before joining the college as an Assistant Professor.
He has worked towards the publication of several articles and edited books, journals and magazine and has presented and published papers at various National / International conferences. He is currently the associate editor of “The New Economist”. He was the associate editor for various conference publications of the Indian Economic Association.
He has been invited for many lectures as a keynote speaker and resource person at various platforms throughout the country.
He has organized more than 25 National, International workshops, symposiums, conferences. He has received many awards for his credentials. To highlight a few, for his contributions in the field of economic sciences, he has been awarded “ Kautilya Award” by the Indian Economic Association.
He is a life time member of many associations like Indian Economic Association, Society of Industrial and Fiscal Economics (ISIFE), Tamil Nadu Economic Association, Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA) and Institute of Advanced Studies and Research.
He has contributed towards academic growth and holds various positions at DGVC. He was former Coordinator, IQAC, former Additional Deputy Controller of Examinations at Dwaraka Doss Goverdhan Doss Vaishnav College, Chennai. He was also Coordinator, Autonomous Visit ( 2022), Convenor, UGC Coordination Cell (since 2021), a part of the core committee of College with Potential for Excellence; NAAC Visit.
Currently he Joint secretary, Indian Economic Association and Tamil Nadu Economic Association .
